Non-standard power: Customized ultra-high voltage capacitor solutions for electron beam physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD) equipment.
EB-PVD technology is used to deposit high-performance thermal barrier coatings (such as those on aircraft engine blades). Its core principle is to bombard the source material with a high-energy electron beam to evaporate it. This technology requires extremely high operating voltages (typically tens to hundreds of kV) and extremely precise electron beam current control. Standard doorknob capacitors often struggle to meet these unique requirements in terms of voltage, size, and specialized circuit topology.
Why does EB-PVD require customized capacitors?
Extreme voltages: The electron gun's accelerating voltage is extremely high, which may require a single capacitor exceeding 200 kV or multiple capacitors in series.
Voltage balancing and reliability: In series applications, voltage distribution across the capacitors must be uniform to prevent single-point breakdown.
Space constraints and integration: Compact equipment structures may require non-standard dimensions or the integration of capacitors with balancing resistors and support structures.
